I have the pickups sitting directly under the bridge, but the signal is way too weak. Even a high input impedance pre-amp barely helps. There is just too much mass in the bridge for the vibrations to overcome. I put the pickup tabs between the strings and the bridge and it shook the house. I will have to come up with some sort of a compromise.
